Apology Ad Example: Wells Fargo Campaign (FOLLOW-UP FINANCIAL PRINT AD)

Apology Advertisement: FOLLOW-UP FINANCIAL PRINT AD

Wells Fargo's apologies drive came in reaction to a massive fraud that was exposed in Sept 2016. Over 1.5 million fraudulent bank & credit card records were illegally produced by workers without their clients notice. Opening those extra accounts allowed workers to make more money. As a result, the fiasco terminated 5,300 workers and Wells Fargo has a significant damage management to perform. Two advertisements are up below. This is from the month after, just after the controversy happened. It also worked the next month. Note how their corrective action plan is almost the majority of the commercial.

The second ad is a rarer apologies ad, where the organization has followed through on the steps they have done in the past 6 months and the outcomes they have achieved. This is a perfect way to reassure the clients that you haven't forgotten what happened and that you really followed through with the promise.
